What an amazing night. Spider spoke about his life and his rise from gang activity and jail cells to becoming a three time Golden Glove Champion, an award winning author and most importantly, a radio broadcaster, a dream he had hopes of achieving since he was 11 years old but never thought he could accomplish. His message of “It doesn’t matter where you’ve been, what counts is where you’re going” is truly inspirational.
Spider’s first book “Out Of the Darkness” is currently in pre-production talks to be an upcoming motion picture with Cuba Gooding Jr. and his new book ”KO Low Self-Esteem” is set to be released in early 2009.
Check out Spider Jones Believe To Achieve website. This is his foundation that helps to carry his “Stay In School” message along with providing support and social activities that increase teens self-confidence and self worth.
The next event featuring Barbara Ashcroft on Nov. 19th is gearing up to be just as great.
